History

2010 WRS becomes a member of  CCPR (Central Council of Physical Recreation) the governing body for sport in the UK as the BWRSA (British WRS Association).

2009  WRS is featured for the first time at the Redbridge Mini Games (875 children from 34 primary schools).  WRS makes it third appearance at LYG (London Youth Games) with 33 boroughs competing.  The second Hackney and the fourth Newham Championships held (see events).

2008  In conjunction with the Hackney School Sport Partnership Hackney SSCO are trained to deliver WRS in the borough.  WRS is featured for the second year at the London Youth Games.  The first Hackney borough wide WRS Championship is held.  Dame Kelly Holmes gives WRS a go!  The Mall UK sponsors portable resistance flooring. 2007  WRS is featured at the London Youth Games with all of the Olympic Boroughs competing.  The third Newham WRS Championship is held.  Mo Farah UK 3000m Record Holder endorses WRS.

2006  Kids WRS is approved nationally as a teaching/training programme by Skills Active.  The second WRS Championships held with six secondary schools and over one hundred and sixty children competing.

2005 The first WRS Competition held with four schools from the borough of Newham and one from Redbridge (Newbridge School)

2004  For the second  year WRS is trialled at Stratford Secondary School

2003  WRS is trialled at Stratford Secondary School (based in Newham)

2002  Weininger watches his 2 year old son slide across the living room floor.  
           Eureka!  The WRS idea is born!
